Service Projects and Application

Use only new (2013) Eagle Scout Project Workbook

  1. Candidate determines what he wants to do
  2. Proposes projects to the Scoutmaster and Eagle Advisor and gets verbal approval
  3. Obtains initial verbal approval of project concept from the benefitting Organization
  4. Plans and writes up Project Proposal (Proposal must be reviewed by Scoutmaster and Troop Eagle Advisor)
  5. Obtains written approval from the Benefitting Organization, Scoutmaster and Troop Committee Chair
  6. Obtains any fundraising signatures needed
  7. Obtains written approval from the District Eagle Chair

  8. Proceed with the project (do not start until all previous steps are completed)
  9. Upon completion, write up Project Report and Summary
  10. Obtain written approval of satisfactory completion from benefitting organization
  11. Project Report & Summary reviewed and obtains written approval from Scoutmaster
  12. Project Report& Summary reviewed by Eagle Advisor
  13. Make sure all required merit badges have been completed.
  14. Participate in a Scoutmaster Conference
  15. Present completed Eagle Application to Committee Chair for approval
  16. Take completed application (with Req #7) to the Longs Peak Council office in Greeley (2215 23rd Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634 (970) 330-6305)
  17. Project Report& Summary reviewed by District Eagle Chair, who will meet with Scout
  18. The Eagle Candidate will plan a place and time for an Eagle Board of Review
  19. The Eagle Candidate will notify the Scoutmaster and Advancement Chair of the planned date, place, and time of his Board of Review AT LEAST ONE WEEK PRIOR TO THE MEETING OF THE BOARD
  20. The eagle candidate will supply 2 members of the community for his Board of Review AND NOTIFY THEM AT LEAST A WEEK PRIOR TO THE BOARD
  21. The Scout will keep the Eagle Advisor informed of all events
