Merit Badge University, Jan 14th and 21st

Come get either a really healthy start or maybe even finish several merit badges! Jan 14th will be held at Galilee Baptist Church 2525 Van Buren Ct. and Jan 21st will be held at Zion Lutheran Church at 815 E. 16th St. Signups are available until Jan. 9th.

Court of Honor, March 6

Come celebrate your accomplishments and the accomplishments of your fellow scouts. As always yummy snacks and a fun slide show shouldn’t be missed.

 


Fish Fry is Back! Fridays, March 3- April 7fishFry

Want to earn some money for campout costs or volunteer hours for advancement while providing a needed service to our charter organization?

Here’s your opportunity. Sign up for an evening (4:30-8:00 pm) where we empty trash, bus tables, carry meals for anyone needing assistance … and oh yeah, usually feast on the leftovers the Knights so graciously feed us at the end of the night! Signup sheets are available now at all Monday night meetings.

 


Snow Activity, March 25

A day for fun in the snow.

Swim night, March 27 and April 10, 7:00 pm

Don’t come to the Knight’s hall for our regularly scheduled troop meeting. Instead join us for a swim night at Harfield Chilson Recreation Center, 700 East 4th St. The scouts will be tested on the BSA Swim test. This includes:

jump feet first into water over the head, level off, and begin swimming. jump feet first into water over the head, level off, and begin swimming.

Swim 75 yards in a strong manner using one or more of the following strokes: side, breast, trudgen, or crawl. Swim 25 yards using an easy, resting backstroke.

The 100 yards must be completed without stops and must include at least one sharp turn.

Rest by floating . . . Long enough to demonstrate ability to rest when exhausted. If you don’t pass, don’t worry. There will be more opportunities in the coming months. After you finish your test, spend the rest of the evening having a great time with the guys!

We will meet in the pool area, ready to swim at 7:00 pm.

Bring $3.25 entrance fee.

New Scout Campout, April 28-30

Every scout in our troop should be signed up for this campout. Come help us welcome our newest scouts. They have lots of new skills to learn and you experienced scouts are just the guys to teach them.
